Role Description:

As an integral member of the Software Development team, you will be responsible for the development of both large feature releases as well as incremental product improvements. You will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of a situation or data requires excellent technical and problem solving skills.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Make a significant contribution to the development of the company's customer portal and its supporting infrastructure
  2. Responsibilities include participating in the design effort, developing code modules, unit and integration testing and performing code reviews
  3. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action, including weighing the costs of various solutions against their benefits and risks
  4. Work with limited supervision and be able to independently deliver software and integrate with the larger project team
  5. Constantly plan, prioritize and document functional changes, enhancements and updates to code
  6. Cross train on all aspects of the web portal and components to both technical support staff and sales teams
  7. monitor and report progress against established metrics
  8. Research solutions and techniques as required for projects. Be aware of and abide by all company policies and procedures (e.g. Employee Handbook)
  9. Be aware of the company's policy on information security and to take whatever actions may from time to time be required of him or her under the terms of the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS)

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :

  1. Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Equivalent Industry Experience
  2. Windows software development experience (2 to 5 years)
  3. .NET programming
  4. Web service development
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of web development, specifically with the following languages/development Tools:
  • C# (2+ years)
  • HTML (2+ years)
  • Javascript (2+ years)
  • Version control (Subversion preferred)
  • SQL (1+ years)
  • Proven proficiency with Windows, IIS, SQL Server Technologies
  • Working knowledge of SQL and stored procedures
  • Familiarity with object oriented software design
  • Self starter that meets deadlines, multi-tasks, sets and achieves measurable goals
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  1. Desired:
  • An understanding of Managed Web Hosting
  • Experience with Ruby, Perl and/or Java
