Role Description:
This role maintains the company's IT Infrastructure security and recommends best practices for the service delivery team's customers. The security administrator will work with all security related incidents insuring minimal impact on the client or our business. The position interacts with the CSO, VP of Operations and the Director of Technical Services.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Implement and maintain various security devices (IDS/IPS, antivirus, vulnerability assessment and data integrity products)
- Proactively monitor network and client infrastructure for security issues. Identify and report potential security threats to the CSO
- Respond to security incidents according to company security policies
- Act as a resource for the company's sales team to develop service offerings and consult during customer engagements
- Provide leadership and training to staff on new security policies, best practices and product implementations
- When a large scale security threat is identified, lead a task group to mitigate the threat on our infrastructure
- Work with the CSO to develop security policies for the company
- Detailed time accounting for all activities
- Perform routine auditing and analysis for all systems across the company
- Deliver detailed, written documentation for all projects and systems
- Work within ITIL framework to deliver services
- Be aware of and abide by all company policies and procedures (e.g. Employee Handbook
- Be aware of the company's policy on information security and to take whatever actions may from time to time be required of you under the terms of the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS)
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :
- Good communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Strong organizational, documentation and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment
- Strong resource management and capacity planning skills
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking including routing and redundancy protocols
- Familiar with scripting on Windows and Linux
- Must have strong knowledge of Vulnerability Assessments, IT Security Systems
- At least 5 years of experience as a system administrator working with Windows and Unix/Linux systems in an enterprise environment
- Strong understanding and experience implementing physical and digital security best practices and technologies
- Experience maintaining a production environment with zero or very minimal downtime
- Degree in computer science or related education
- Programming knowledge/experience a bonus
- Familiar with ITIL methodologies and implementations
