Role Description:
The Network Administrator will be part of Tenzing's network team and will be responsible for the configuration, troubleshooting, documentation and maintenance of WAN, LAN, Firewall, Load Balancing, VPN and telephony systems across multiple data centers and office using Juniper, Cisco, F5 and Linux technologies.
Key Responsibility Areas:
- Provide technical expertise around Juniper, Cisco, F5 and Linux network service technologies
- Configure, implement and troubleshoot a variety of Ethernet-based network services including Routers, Switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers and VPN devices
- Proactively manage the service and security requirements of all network systems
- Assist in deployment and incident and problem management related to client environments as required
- Second/Third-Level Help Desk ticket resolution, including supporting the business 24x7x365 and on-call support as needed
- Perform advanced monitoring and reporting related to network systems
- Document network services, procedures and policies relating to network services
- Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as systems to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems
- Work with vendors to resolve complex network problems
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference
- Work within ITIL framework to deliver services
- Be aware of and abide by all company policies and procedures (e.g. Employee Handbook)
- Be aware of the company's policy on information security and to take whatever actions may from time to time be required of you under the terms of the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :
- Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Equivalent Industry Experience
- A minimum of 3 years' experience of ethernet routing and switching in an ISP-like environment
- Strong hands-on knowledge of network protocols and services such as LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Spanning-Tree, OSPF, BGP, DNS, IPSec and NAT
- CCNA/JNCIA an asset, but not required
- Experience with IP Telephony an asset, but not required
- Expert knowledge of network routing fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques essential
- Strong communication skills
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and growing IT environment and the flexibility to work with a wide range of technologies
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively within a team environment, utilizing excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule
Preferred Certifications
- CCNA/CCNP
- JNCIA/JNCIS
- ITIL Practitioner
TIME MANAGEMENT OUTLINE:
