Role Description:

As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for prospecting, developing opportunities and closing new business; and delivering against aggressive individual sales targets. You will sell both directly to end user organizations and through partner channels. The overall goal for this position is to increase new monthly revenue growth. The ideal Business Development Manager will have a proven track record in building high value, long lasting relationships and closing managed hosting sales. We're looking for people that enjoy a consultative sales engagement and are confident working with both business and technical decision makers. Your background includes new business development in a B2B mode, selling solutions and services. You may have sold software, SaaS solutions, data centre services, managed hosting, disaster recovery or other IT services.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  1. Develop strategy and tactics to execute a comprehensive plan to build a strong 'outbound' sales funnel to achieve/exceed quota
  2. Responsible for prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing managed services revenue for new customers
  3. Sell through partners (systems integrators, application developers, ISVs, e-commerce, etc,) and directly to end user organizations (enterprise and SMB)
  4. Develop highly differentiated solutions that establish Tenzing as a strategic business partner
  5. Pro-actively manage a pipeline, to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual numbers are met, and exceeded
  6. Build relationships and develop trust with senior level technical and business decision makers - both with partners and end user organizations
  7. Work closely with Solutions Engineering team to assess customer requirements and develop recommended solutions. Prepare and present proposals as required
  8. Manage all sales activity within CRM. Maintain accurate forecasts of revenue vs. quota within CRM. Provide weekly updates on activity and opportunities
  9. Develop account profiles and account plans for selected target accounts and partners
  10. Actively participate in sales and skills training
  11. Develop, share and maintain an in-depth knowledge of all key competitors
  12. Be aware of the company's policy on information security and to take whatever actions may from time to time be required of him or her under the terms of the company's Information Security Management System (ISMS)
  13. Be aware of and abide by all company policies and procedures (e.g. Employee Handbook)

Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record of exceeding quarterly and annual sales quotas for technology services
  2. Demonstrated success as a 'hunter', developing new business
  3. Experience in developing Partner channels in addition to direct sales
  4. Minimum 5 years of experience selling IT solutions and services including:
  • Managed Hosting
  • Cloud computing / virtualization
  • IT Infrastructure Services/ Outsourcing
  • Consulting
  • Managed Security
  • Colocation
  • Professional Services
  • Software as a Service
  1. Strong understanding of key technologies including web hosting, cloud computing, managed services and software as a service
  2. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  3. University Diploma or Degree preferred, with ongoing career related training

Compensation:

  1. Strong base salary and aggressive sales performance bonuses, paid monthly
  2. Standard employee dental and health plan with waiver of three month waiting period
