Tenzing Launches Data Assure Service to Ease the Burden of Data Protection

New Service Offers Automated, Fully-Managed, Cloud-based Data Protection with Proactive Administration and Backup Monitoring

TORONTO – September 24, 2012

Tenzing Managed IT Services (Tenzing), a leading provider of hosting solutions for ecommerce clients, System Integrators (SIs) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) providers, today announced Data Assure, the latest in a series of “Advanced Managed Services” being developed and brought to market by Tenzing to help overcome common application IT and business challenges. Data Assure is designed to help e-commerce companies, SaaS vendors and other enterprises deal with the daunting task of managing their backup and restore processes..

Tenzing’s Data Assure simplifies the protection of an organization’s critical server environments by providing an automated, fully-managed and cloud-based data protection service with proactive administration and backup data monitoring. Data Assure performs backups automatically and continuously, down to fifteen minute increments (1), so data is protected nearly as fast as it’s being created. Mirrored data centers are secured using stringent procedures, protocols, and standards.

Tenzing staff, or the Data Assure subscriber can select the data to recover from a catalog of archived file versions and Data Assure will automatically restore that data to the client’s specified location. As the Internet can at times be unreliable, Data Assure is also designed to automatically recover from all Internet outages or disruptions without the need for human intervention. Data Assure is now available and the service supports both Linux and Windows Server platforms regardless of where the primary data resides.

“Data backup and recovery are essential for businesses today, particularly for mission-critical systems that have stringent compliance requirements and act as the system of record for online purchases or other key business transactions. Data Assure takes the complexity out of the data protection process for e-commerce companies, SaaS vendors and enterprises, so they can focus on what matters most: growing their business,” says Brian Shepard, founder and CEO of Tenzing.

According to Raj Atwal, Vice President and GM, E-commerce at Tenzing, “Data Assure is part of an extensive roadmap of services we are bringing to market to solve specific IT challenges. We are listening to our clients and the marketplace and this new service is a direct response to that feedback. There has been a pent up demand from our clients for this offering and a number of them have already subscribed. Like most of our Advanced Managed Services, Data Assure is highly relevant for any organization running mission-critical applications.”
